I created my first website in 6th grade as a class project. I didn’t receive a very good grade, but that’s where it all started. Over the years I’ve worked in several different facets of the IT industry. I’ve been on a computer basically since birth and I knew I would pursue something in this field. A combination of marketing internships and studying Information Architecture led me to become a professional web designer. The name is restricting, but what I study and practice in the professional world is much more than design.
A well thought-out web presence is an investment, not an expense. It pays for itself by working 24 hours a day to represent your business to the world and potential clients. The web is about engaging your users and providing useful information. A business website is about turning that useful information and engagement into loyalty or a purchase, not by misleading, but by positioning yourself where your users are looking.
